Do you need your business to run more efficiently?

I have been developing custom Microsoft Access datatbase and SQL Server database applications in and around the New York area for over 15 years. From small businesses to Not For Profit Organizations to large corporations, my work has saved my client's time and money. I have done work for such companies as ABC, among others. I have experience in the following fields: Accounting, CRM Systems, Hedge Funds, Trading Systems, Budgeting, Inventory, Medical Recordkeeping, and many other diversified experiences.

Many companies have their business spread out in different formats using different programs. I will combine your business into one program, thus making your business run more efficiently. A professionally developed client server Access application can save your company time and money.

For most small and medium projects, Access provides all the tools and facilitates rapid development. Many times companies try to develop these type of applications in-house and run into multiple problems. I can take a project that was started and complete it in a timely fashion. I can develop applications from scratch, or upgrade existing applications, or convert a current program into Access.

My applications are solidly coded using object-oriented VBA techniques, DAO, ADO, ODBC, etc. not a collection of macros. This includes installation of the program and I will provide training and documentation if requested.

My work will save your company time and money and that is the bottom line. Also include a brief description of your project.

Offerings: I might help you to outsource some of the automation, programming and analytical tasks to Qcfinance India (I am one of the co-founders of the company since 2012). QCFinance helps startups with limited resource to be more efficient by providing solution aimed to enhancing valuations of small companies (5-20). Since I am in NYC, I will make sure that you are completely satisfied, and since I was a part of the team I know the team in India very well. In India, I have worked in Captives and 3rd Party service providers for various banks like: Deutsche bank (Index quant team), Wells Fargo (CIB), XL Catlin Investments (New York team).

Demo Pricing: You may even outsource a very small pilot project / training assistance @ $30-50/hour to start with! With mix of training and project outsourcing, you can make your employees more productive, also the automation of mundane task will enhance the value of your startup! All top investment banks and companies today have their offices in India hence India has become an important place to do business more than ever.

I have a strong belief that once you understand more about the Indian outsourcing industry you will have a better chance of using it to add value to your company.

How Qcfinance.in work with small companies:

How many times have you seen problems or opportunities for improvement in your workflow and promised to fix them if you only had the time or if you only could train your employees with such expertise?

Unforeseen, undocumented, forgiven, hidden cost of issues like below are bringing your valuations down:
Poorly-understood, legacy framework mostly into excel--dilapidated on unknown, unstated assumptions
Slow process of calculations
Un-scalable excel models that are difficult to maintain, improve, replicate or extend
Increased pressure, requiring added reporting and enhanced auditing
Lack of in-house research resources for SQL and R -- both of which are open source (free -- with no extra burden)
Over-reliance on external novel untested software from vendors

QCFin provide quant automation and programming solutions for removing tech hurdles, enabling financial and consulting companies to create more value in their systems and employers which increases the valuation for the firm.

Technologies: MATLAB, R, VBA, SAS, Latex, SQL others.

Analysis: From simple office tasks like automation of excel and latex reports to more complex tasks like Monte carlo simulations

Avoiding On Error Resume next statements in VBA what is the road ahead then?

Avoiding Error statements in VBA what is the road ahead then?

Blank vs "" vs 0
Keeping there nothing
Keeping there ""
Formula giving "" or 0

NA is error
Div/0

All of them have their importance and implcation.

0 is different from isblank ... iszero.... is function... is date ... etc

These might become useful at times...

Also you can use 0 1 + etc while dealing with boolean which means true false 1 0 & and

Explicitly handling error and not using error handlers is the key..

Sub errorp1()

Dim i, j As Double
For i = 1 To 5 Step 1
j = 1 / (i - 2)
On Error Resume Next
MsgBox j
'ignore the error and move ahead keeping last value
Next i
End Sub

Sub errorp2()

Dim i, j As Variant
For i = 1 To 5 Step 1
j = 1 / ((i - 2) * (i - 3))
MsgBox j
On Error GoTo ER
GoTo ER2
ER:
On Error GoTo 0
MsgBox "error"
Resume Next

ER2:
Next i

End Sub

'Notes
'http://stackoverflow.com/questions/...tween-on-error-goto-0-and-on-error-goto-1-vba
'http://www.excelfox.com/forum/f23/difference-between-on-error-goto-0-and-on-error-goto-1-a-894/
'On Error GoTo 0 disables any error trapping currently present in the procedure.
'On Error GoTo -1 clears the error handling and sets it to nothing which allows you to create another error trap.

Sub ErrorTest()

Dim dblValue As Double

On Error GoTo ErrHandler1
dblValue = 1 / 0
ErrHandler1:
MsgBox "Exception Caught"
On Error GoTo -1 'Comment this line to check the effect
On Error GoTo ErrHandler2
dblValue = 1 / 0
ErrHandler2:
MsgBox "Again caught it."

End Sub
Sub ErrorTestUserHandler()

Dim dblValue As Double

For lngloop = 1 To 10
On Error GoTo ErrHandler
dblValue = 1 / 0
ErrHandler:
MsgBox "Caught it."

On Error GoTo -1 'Comment this line and run it again to see the effect
Next

End Sub

  • Helpful for passing FRM, CFA, BAT exams also prepares for Master level studies in Finance or career change.
  • Right mix of data handling, scripting, mathematical skills.
  • Contains right blend of learning and practice (Ratio 6:4).

Below are the video description of the course and the ppts used:

Addon Module on Quant Corporate Equity. This could include quant index, beta computations, different style of index, equity derivatives, importance of volume traded, value growth differences, emerging and developed markets relations, how index are made, using ric ticker, etc equity database research, etc.

Addon Module on Financial Risk: This could include Monte-Carlo, VAR, BS, Copulas pricing cdo, pricing exotic options, Modified BS models, EVT distributions, VLOOKUP, long data tables etc.

List of commands that we will use with references for self-study:
Param Array: Challenges and use of param array for dynamic number of inputs. Param array is itself added with GOTO command.

GOTO: Referring string named ranges Application.

GOTO Reference:=abc2
'Range("qrs").Value = Selection Value
Application GOTO.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/ff839232.aspx.

The above command is used to go to a named range and select it. This is slower way to do the same.

Data Tables: Making data tables in vba, how to clear all update values, in other words enable/disable tables.

Setting default values from range to other named ranges: 2 column range and going to name using goto command and also storing value as string... clearing old values and difference between if error go to next and if error go to ext.

With Command: Use to act several attributes to an object in one go: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/wc500chb(v=vs.80).aspx

The On Error Statement: http://www.cpearson.com/excel/errorhandling.htm.

Application.Union: Takes union of ranges.

This can be used to take union of ranges that are defined at different places.
http://www.cpearson.com/excel/BetterUnion.aspx

Call function in VBA is used to call functions based on name and parameters

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/sxz296wz(v=vs.80).aspx

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/aa204537(v=office.11).aspx

Expression will calculate the range means I think it is like replacing = with =

Sub procedure

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dz1z94ha(v=vs.80).aspx

.activate

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/ff194565.aspx.

Function overloading in MATLAB is an interesting area, it is like defining function adhoc that will be used that time only and I think activated during the lines are used
